If you are anything like me, you realize how over-complicated the current "smart" security systems are designed. Many of these systems require multiple apps to manage locks, cameras, doorbells, alarms, etc. Nest is on-track to alleviate this burden.
I don't know about you, but I love the idea of having full reign over my home through a single app and hardware provider. Nothing is more frustrating than having to file through Ring Doorbell, Alarm.com, and Honeywell just to make sure my family is safe and sound.
Let us welcome the all-new Nest Secure: Nest's fresh new lineup of security-focused hardware. Complete with Guard, Detect, Tag, and Doorbell, Nest has brought to market an all-in-one solution to our ever-expanding security needs. The greatest part about it - they can all be partnered with the already-powerful Nest App that controls the current Cameras, Protect, and Smart Thermostat.
How does it work, you might ask? Placed near the entrances in your home, Guard is the main hub used to arm and disarm the system. This is where the Tag comes into play. Tags are meant to be added to your current key ring and act as the "crypto-key" to arm/disarm your system by tapping the Tag on the Guard. Guard is also outfitted with a numerical keypad in case you lose your Tag or prefer to do things the old-fashioned way.
Lets not forget the Detect sensors! These little guys not only detect when a door is opened, but also have the ability to pickup motion throughout a room. Not only that, it can also act as a night-light when walking through an entryway in the dark. Needless to say this new line-up of products packs a big punch in a very small package.
Nest has done a great job of securing themselves as a leader in the smart home market. I believe that this new line-up of Secure devices will further fortify this consumer-focused market. Take a look for yourselves and see all of the great features Nest has incorporated.
